I believe the Federal Government has grown to a size that is not sustainable and that we must cut all programs that are not effective at achieving their goal.  The Federal Governments own financial experts agree. See the Government Accountability Offices website and their report titled "The 21st Century Challenges"  at www.GAO.gov and see their conclusion  that "Continuing on this unsustainable path will gradually erode, if not suddenly damage, our economy, our standard of living and ultimately our national security"

Specifically I would support cutting:

All Foreign aid, Americans have and will choose to support organizations such as the Red Cross or Doctors without Borders who deliver humanitarian aid where their supporters believe they should.  The federal government on the otherhand forces everyone to send money to places we do not personally support.  This aid often has political strings attached.   

All Federal Welfare:  This includes all corporate welfare, politician welfare, individual welfare and foreign aid.  There is no added value in sending the money to Washington DC first so they can decide how much money Michigan will get back for the programs it chooses to do.
